| "The Crossing" is a
beautifully restored and furnished old English style manor house built in
1908. Located on the main route between Christchurch and Queenstown or Mount
Cook.The Crossing is your perfect base for exploring the central South Island. The spacious lounges have open fires and ample leather seating. A shaded verandah overlooks the lovely gardens, where you can relax and read or enjoy a leisurely game of croquet or petanque. There is a grand piano in the Gentleman's Lounge, and a selection of board games and books for your enjoyment. Enjoy a three course dinner and your choice of beverages in our fully licensed restaurant. The local attractions include fishing for salmon and trout, hot air ballooning, white water rafting, nature treks in Peel Forest, antique car museum and winery. Golfers, spend a week and play fourteen friendly and uncrowded courses, each within one hours drive. All have low green fees and welcome visitors. We have three guest bedrooms:
